A Reflection 01:03

about

Music has a contradictory nature. Sometimes it helps us escape and cope through the pain and depression in a world that's messy, confusing, almost too crazy for us to handle. Sometimes it guides us by helping us focus on specific issues (be it social, political, philosophical, or religious). It can damn well cheer us up, too, and make us dance. Sometimes it helps us study, while quietly playing it in the background. Sometimes it distracts us and numbs us, de-stresses us and makes us feel like everything else ends up disappearing completely for a few tender minutes... and sure thing, we need that too!
These multipurpose properties of music are part of what makes us complex human beings, all with our different needs, experiences and emotions. Unsurprisingly, qualities like these are woven into the very fabric of our cultures (whether historical or modern) along with our many different urban tribes and subtribes, all with their own idiosyncratic niches and aesthetics, often accompanied with numerous other forms of artistic expression besides music itself.

Sanguine Vol. 1 is sure to take some different routes from previous Undogmatic releases. From energetic and upbeat acid breaks and big beat (along with influences from other forms of psychedelic music), to drum & bass, industrial and yet still some sweet inspiration from the 90s underground hip hop scene. Undogmatic explores yet again some uncharted territory, which is precisely what being undogmatic implies when it comes to the musical affairs: fearlessly entertaining some new and different ideas within the music sphere. It's about not giving a damn about what you ought or ought not experiment with.
We can't be free from judgment, but we sure as hell can try and be free from the pesky inhibition to experiment with different ideas and be creative, specially those well outside the boundaries of our comfort zone. That's what Undogmatic is all about.
